In the village of Koreniki , near Umag, the Coronica family has been cultivating vineyards on the deep Istrian red soil known as terra cotta for four generations. rossa , in the Bosco Grando location surrounded by centuries-old oak forests. The vineyards were taken over from his father Ottaviano by Moreno Coronica , who took over the management of the winery in 1992 and today, together with his wife Suzana, is one of the most recognizable ambassadors of Istrian Malvasia and Teran in the world. The proximity of the sea, just a few kilometers from the vineyard, brings a constant flow of air which, combined with the red soil rich in limestone, shapes wines with pronounced minerality , freshness and a long aging life. The winery's philosophy is summarized in a simple but demanding sentence, wine must taste like wine, an approach that has made Coronica synonymous with the authentic expression of Istrian terroir .
