The grapes are harvested by hand in several small, terraced vineyards surrounding Spitz, Dürnstein and Weissenkirchen. This Riesling Federspiel reflects the unique climate and primary stony soil of the Wachau Valley. The wine exudes stone fruit, delicate lime and notes of ripe pear. On the palate, aromas of juicy white peach and subtle notes of apricot. Well balanced with a refined structure, very fresh, crisp with gentle acids.
It goes well with Mediterranean cuisine, brudette, fish soups, grilled sea bass or white meat in sauces. Also ideal with sushi and sashimi or fried dishes such as shrimp in tempura. Classic Austrian dishes that go well with Riesling Federspiel are roasted carp or poached fish with a crisp summer salad topped with goat cheese.
