Hendricks

Hendrick's was founded by William Grant & Sons in 1999 at the Girvan distillery in Scotland, with the idea of creating a gin unlike any other on the market. The recipe was developed by oenologist Lesley Gracie , who developed a completely unusual, almost absurdly inefficient, but magnificent production process: instead of one, Hendrick's is created by combining two separate distillates. One is obtained in an old-fashioned copper pot still, giving a rich and complex spirit, while the other is distilled in a modern Carter Head still with a long neck, creating a more delicate, refined character. Each of the distillates is infused with a symphony of eleven botanicals, including chamomile, elderberry, juniper, lemon and orange peel, coriander , and angelica root and orris. What makes Hendrick's truly unique is the final step: the gin is further refined with unusual but wonderfully harmonious infusions of Bulgarian rose petals and cucumber, a combination that gives it a distinctive freshness and floral note, unrepeatable in the world of gin . The bottle in the shape of a dark brown apothecary jar further emphasizes the eccentric, almost Victorian spirit of the brand.
