Grif

Microbrewery Grif was born in 2017 in the heart of Zagreb, as a special, completely independent project within Zagrebačka pivovara, with the aim of adding an authentic, artisanal approach to brewing beer to classic industrial production. The name Grif itself is actually an old Zagreb Germanism with a double meaning, on the one hand it means the handle of a tap for pouring beer, and on the other it symbolizes skill, to have "grif" for something means to be a master of your craft, which perfectly describes the philosophy of the brewery. The beer is brewed in a modern facility located within the cult pub Pivana in Ilica, where the head brewer has complete freedom in creating recipes, using only quality ingredients such as the noble German Tettnang hops for Pilsner or the American varieties Galaxy, Simcoe and Ella for NEIPA styles. Grif consciously puts quality before quantity, producing unfiltered and unpasteurized fresh draft beer in small, carefully controlled batches, including seasonal specials such as smoked Rauchbier , one of the first of its kind in Croatia.
