Illyricum from Tomić is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Plavac Mali, blend of grapes originating from an organic vineyard in bay of Vir island, planted in 2012. Old Illyrian cemeteries were found next to the vineyard, hence the name of the wine. Plavac Mali and Cabernet Sauvignon are vinified separately, then blended and aged in barrique barrels. In this way, the aromas of Plavac Mali (prunes and ripe grapes) with elegantly polished and pleasant tannins are perfectly complemented by aromas (red and black berries) and the freshness of Cabernet Sauvignon. Spicy notes of oak (vanilla, tobacco) were moderately interwined. The wine is a deep ruby granite and red in colour with pleasant acids, medium intensity and long aftertaste.
