Pivovara Medvedgrad
Pivovara Medvedgrad is the largest Croatian craft brewery that has been brewing delicious and natural lagers in the traditional way since 1994. A family craft brewery that has been brewing delicious and natural lagers for decades for people who have a positive outlook on life and beer. In a dynamic and changing environment, permanent beer values are provided. The cellar for fermentation and aging has a capacity of 350,000 liters, and the bottle filling line enables the filling of 5,000 bottles per hour.
The family that runs Medvedgrad already had four sons in 1994, so the brewery was originally supposed to be called Cetiri dečka, and the names of the first beers would be Tref, Herc, Karo and Pik. In the end, the brewery got its name after the old Bavarian tradition, according to which breweries were named after the nearest medieval fortress, which is Medvedgrad on Medvednica in Zagreb. Today, the boys are the second generation of the family that proudly continues to run the brewery.
Pivovara Medvedgrad specializes in Bavarian and Czech lagers. The lagers that are brewed are the result of long-term cooperation with the Czech Beer Institute, and the brewers of Medvedgra Brewery learned from their best brewmasters.
