Scottish single malt whiskey from the Highland region, praised and appreciated by connoisseurs around the world, has been produced since 1843. As a whiskey producer, Glenmorangie is known as a connoisseur of aging in wood. Ex-bourbon barrels are used for aging, after which the whiskey is aged in former wine barrels, which gives it additional aromas and complexity. Glenmorangie whiskeys are ideal for all those who are starting their journey into the world of single malt whiskey as well as for true connoisseurs, who want to enjoy their finesse and complexity. Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is the darkest and most intense whiskey from the extra-matured series, which has been aged for 10 years in American white oak barrels and then for four more years in specially selected ruby port barrels from the so-called Quintasa or small wineries in Portugal. As it matures in these barrels, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban develops into an enticing whiskey with a complex balance between sweet notes and aromas of dried fruit, with an intriguing contrast of lightly toasted and fresh notes. It is not cold filtered to add extra flavors. On the nose there is the smell of mint chocolate, tangerine and Seville orange, which merges with the smell of sandalwood and walnuts, before the spicy finish on pepper and nutmeg. The flavors of chocolate and walnuts velvety wrap the palate, after which the flavours of rose and orange are monitored. A long and almost silky finish in which mint chocolate and traces of orange dominate again. Awards: ISC 2017 - Gold Medal, IWSC 2016 - Gold Medal.
