Barceló Imperial is a blend of various aged rums, up to 10 years old, matured in used bourbon barrels. It has twice been named the "Best Rum in the World" by the Chicago Beverage Testing Institute. It also holds the title of being the first rum ever to rank among the highest-rated spirits, with a score of 97 out of 100.
It is best described as an organoleptic harmony and balance in appearance, aroma, and taste.
With a bright copper-gold color, its aromatic profile is infused with notes of dried cherries, intense vanilla aromas, pineapple jam, and caramelized walnuts.
The finish is complex and long-lasting, featuring notes of carrot cake, walnut crust, mocha, and a pronounced flavor of bread crust that lingers and slowly fades away.
